Our warm Easter weekend

We started off our nice, warm Easter weekend with the arrival of my brother Bruce and his wife April, their kids and my Mom decided to make the trip even though she was in the process of moving. It's always good to take a break every now and then, right?

On Saturday we went down to the Arts Festival here in town. It's an annual event that is outdoors and held on Main Street. Artists from all over display their unique works of art while we peruse their booths, listen to live bands and enjoy yummy festival food. This year they really expanded their children's play area to include lots of crafts, circus-type entertainment, water splashing at the water pad that spits water up in a pattern like motion and clowns that blew balloons into animals. The kids really enjoyed this area of the festival. We even got to see some live belly dancers! I'm once again upset at myself for forgetting the camera. But the artwork was amazing and it was really worth our effort to haul everyone down there.

Afterwards, we headed home to decorate eggs and cupcakes. The kids loved this part of the day and couldn't wait to get going on it. As you can see from the slide show, their eggs and cupcakes really turned out like their own works of art. Maybe the art festival inspired them. Later that evening we decided to have our Easter dinner since my family wouldn't be staying long enough to have it on Sunday night. We made the typical ham dinner with baked potatoes, salad and rolls. We topped it off with some yummy Costco cheesecake.

Easter morning the kids woke to their baskets filled with Easter goodies left by that "wascaly wabbit". They later headed outside to find that the sneaky bunny left them some candy and eggs to hunt for. Kaylee and her cousin Zak decided this year was the year they would sit the hunt out for the first time. A sad thing to think about, but it just isn't cool anymore for them. Well, with that said. Our Easter was fun one filled with lots of family memories. Thanks to my brother and his family for coming down and talking Mom into it too. We missed everyone else! Maybe next year...Hope your's was a HOPPY one...I put together some pics on another slide show...enjoy!

Looks like you had a good time with your family. How about posting some family pictures of your brother and mom? (Do I ask too much?) Don't feel bad (about what you posted on mine) because you have created some fun family memories they will always remember.
