Draw till you can't draw no more!

This is a shout out to all you mothers out there. Can I just say how much I love this dry erase board? We went to Colorado for Thanksgiving last November and most of the kids couldn't pull themselves away from drawing on this board they had there. Kim and Darin thanks for the idea! Anyways, we decided to buy our kids one for Christmas and it has been a so much fun for them. We've had fun too watching some of the really creative ideas that come out of their heads. I'm just kicking myself that I didn't take more pictures of their doodlings over the past few months. (Making mental note to myself).

I had the thought one day to go to the library to see if they had any kids drawing books. I was so excited to see they had several. So I checked some out and brought them home for the kids to use. This is Jaynee drawing a sheep using one of the books. See, even a 4 yr. old can interpret the step-by-step books. And she's doing a pretty good job of it if I say so myself. :D

You can purchase one of these large dry erase boards for $14.99, the 8 pk. markers $6.99 and the eraser for $1.99 at Wal-Mart. You might be able to find them at Target or Staples too. But this "toy" is the best creative outlet I've purchased for my kids in a long time and with the cost of it being less than $25 all together, you can't go wrong. The board is even magnetic and we've used it for family home evening lessons (magnets you have to purchase separately). And we've used it in the past to write some the Articles of Faith on there to help Kaylee memorize them for her Faith in God award/book. It was easy to erase one word at a time. Even when they have friends come over they love to sit and draw on the board. The hardest time we've had so far with it is who gets to use the board first. Well, let's just say we've solved that problem in a hurry. They just draw lines to make 2, 3 or 4 sections so they all can use it. Viole' ! Everyone is happy! And the funniest thing we've seen them do is write a "sign" that says "Do not erase till 11:30" or "4:15" at bottom of their drawings. This way their drawing can last longer for all to see. Jaynee has even memorized how to spell each of the words so she puts a note too at the bottom her drawings. Very cute! It's been neat to see the creativeness that they each possess. A must buy for every family, I say.

What an awesome idea. My Reagan loves to draw and color on paper. We go through the paper like crazy. I am going to get this for her for her birthday tomorrow. Thanks for the idea.

Great idea. I know my kids use dry erase boards in school all the time. They all have them at their desks. Saves lots of paper. I'll have to snag one for home, too!

I think that is a great idea. I've been using a big chalkboard but the dust gets everywhere. I'm going to have to get a wipe board. Much cleaner!

BTY: Did your dinner turn out on Sunday and if so, will you give me the recipe?
