Kason just recently advanced from his Cub Scout Wolf den and has entered the Bear den. And because I've been "MIA" on this blog lately, I haven't kept up on our current events very good. (Okay, no comments from the peanut gallery.... you know who you are!) I love this picture above of the boys. They are seem as if their in deep thought. The ones standing are all looking in a different direction and the ones sitting have their own agenda.
Kerry is the Cubmaster for our pack and really likes the responsibilities it requires of him. I know....there's not very many Cubmasters out there who enjoy their calling. But Kerry seems to and is very good at it.
Kason completed his Wolf requirements this past February, but due to some kind of misunderstanding he never was awarded his actual badge until our pack meeting in May. Kerry come up with the idea to use these stumps as the cubs way of advancing (crafty signs made by me). They would symbolically step from the Wolf den into the Bear den.
This is Kason pinning the "mother's pin" on me. I think he was a little embarassed by it.
The boys had a blast planting this tree. We were surprised by them being so involved in making sure it got planted. All of them wanted to help!
Kerry and his hearty crew of tree-planting scouts. Look at that tree...it's taller than all of them. Way to go everyone, you did a great job. Some kids in 10-15 years will be so glad they have an extra shade tree to play under. All because of your hard work!
