With the speed turned up, Kason fell to the ground pretty quickly. Leaving his shoulder and neck somewhat caught under the belt as it was rotating underneath the platform. The belt rubbed his shoulder and neck and gave him a "road rash" or burn to his skin. It also bruised the back part of his shoulder pretty badly too. He was not in the mood for me to take pictures of his newly acquired burns, but gave into me the next day. So the wounds were partially scabbed over by the time I took these.

Treadmills aren't toys
Kason had a mishap with a treadmill while he was at his friend's house the other day. They are both old enough to know that treadmills aren't toys. But the thrill of watching how fast they each could run on it was more entertaining than anything else at that time.

If you look closely below, you can see the bruise on the back part of his arm. It was so sore, he told me he had a hard time putting his arm up on his desk at school to write. I think his bruise was more internal than we thought.
It's so hard to protect boys from getting hurt. It's part of their nature and you have to let boys be boys. Even if it's hard for us moms to do so. I'm just so glad it wasn't anything worse than this. As for Kason, he considers this....LESSON LEARNED!!!

Yikes! Makes me think twice about getting one myself.
owwie Kason! Did you know that Kai had to go to the burn center after getting his arm caught under the belt--the dr. said it is the most common cause of injury there. They can be third degree burns, but luckily Kai's was only a 2nd degree. So glad you didnt get a concussion or something.
That's crazy! It stinks when we have to learn a lesson the hard way...
OUCH! It amazes me that kids- especially boys make it through childhood at all.
