Over the Thanksgiving holiday, we coupled the holiday with a Hinton family reunion. The Friday after Thanksgiving we headed over to the sand dunes in Snow Canyon here in our area and had all kinds of fun.
Whenever we get the chance, we always have to get a picture of all the 12 year olds. We call them the "96ers" because they were all born in the same year. Here's the action shots we got of them running up a sandy hill and jumping down. I snatched this first picture from one of my sister in-law's blogs and I can't remember which...sorry Jen or Heather.

Pictures of the surrounding canyon:

Has anyone ever played in red desert sand like this before?

Well...with this red sand comes all kinds of fun...like a cute little niece...

A little sand flag football to help work off those turkey dinner calories...

And some cute girls making big shapes out of sand. Here's my two girls with their cousin tucked inside a huge sand heart they made.

We had a great weekend with all of the Hinton family. We lucked out this weekend and ended up with some really nice weather. The rain didn't last and we had 55 degree weather for sand playing and 65+ degree weather for Saturday park playing. We were loving the unusal warm weather over this weekend of giving thanks.

I am lovin' the big sand heart! I think I would like to order one of those for my backyard this next Valentines day! (and there is no need to send me one, I will just imagine it in my mind! LOL) When we lived in Idaho I loved the sand dunes. I had never seen anything like that before in my life! Big piles/mountains of sand to roll around in...so cool!
How fun...really!!!! I would love to be in your family...your reunions are so memorable. The heart is the best...very creative!
The heart is so cute. What a fun idea. Sounds like you had a super family vacation.
Looks like tons of fun...I would have to agree with the other Julie...I want to belong to your family ;)
