Soccer Season

This time of the year begins yet another season of soccer here in town. Which means soccer games every Saturday morning until the second week of November.

Kaylee and Kason haven't played soccer for a few years now, but Jaynee really wanted to play this year so we signed her up. They officially named their team this past weekend and decided they were the "Shooting Stars". Very cute, I thought. Since their uniform colors are pale yellow and navy blue. For this game they played against the "Pink Panthers".

Here they are doing their team cheer before starting the game.
If you have ever watched a bunch of 5 year olds play soccer, then you know what I mean when I say it's just a bunch of kids huddled together in one mass, running, and chasing the ball up and down the field. It's very funny to watch them because they all know their suppose to do one thing...KICK the ball!It seems there's always one of these girls (in the middle) who just so happens to be the oldest on their team and dominates over everyone when it comes to possession of the ball. I think as a parent I had the hardest time out of them all. The girls didn't seem to care! Plus, I didn't pay for my daughter to play soccer only to sit and watch her games while some other girl has the ball the entire time. Jaynee was really good to get in there to kick the ball, but as soon as she did this girl would immediately take over.
Some more action shots... We truly enjoyed watching Jaynee play and look forward to each of her games. Even if there is a dominating ball kicker on her team. :) It's more for her anyway and a chance for her to grow and get better. And when it comes down to it, this shirt said it all...

Jaynee will be a cute little soccer player.

Maybe suggest to Jaynee to kick the aggressive girl in the shins. (Just kidding.)

We will have to come and watch her play a game.
